Going to school with diabetes

This week I started school. But this year taking diabetes to school was a little harder.Whenever I had to go to the nurse my teacher,(Mrs. Thomas), yelled to me across the room in front of my class. I was very embarrassed. But Ms.Piper has type two diabetes and she understands. my nurse is also very nice. speaking of diabetes my mom is going to sign me up for a two night camp! more on that later.

All week long we have been going back and forth to many places. Andrew has had cub scout camp and he is always so tired. We have activity day girls camp until tuesday. It is so much fun.

let's all go outside and play at 4am!

Yesterday it was 106 degrees!!! A new record for june in georgia. (This information is from the newspaper, so it must betrue, I'm not just making this up!) It's supposed to be in the 100's all week, through the 4th of july. We covered big open windows with sheets and have all fans turned on high! today it is 105 degrees. during the night it is supposed to feel the coolest at 4am. (85) let's all go outside and play at 4am!!

Braces

This is good news and bad news. I got braces. They are purple. That is the good news. The bad news must be pretty horrible huh? The bad news is that I have an expander. It is near the roof of my mouth. Because of it I have to relearn to talk, chew, and swallow. But I only have the expander on for 2 or 3 weeks.

P-A-R-T-Y!

On Friday I went to the bookstore.And I got a"RAINBOW MAGIC"book.When I got home the house was all decorated.Then I said"is this my birthday PARTY?!And then everyone jumped out and said SURPRISE!Then I dropped my book and hugged everyone.And we ate cake and ice cream and played telephone.(I'll post pics later.)And we watched gotta catch Santa Claus.and.......IT WAS A SLEEPOVER!!!so there you have it. BYE! P.S. I HAVE A PLAY.

getting ready for x-mas

Today I am going to lights of the south.Because on Monday daddy was sick and yesterday I had to go to "Activity Day Girls".So it got pushed all the way to today, (Wednesday the 23rd ,09.)I`ts the day before Christmas Eve!!!!!We are making "chocolate fudge".I went to my friend Morgan`s house and She gave us chocolate,orange,cream cheese,peanut butter,and marshmallow flavored fudge. We put up lights in are rooms and snowflakes in the living room. We also put up tinsel and ornaments in the dining room.

Christmas

I'm sorry I didn't write on my blog. Now it's Christmas! I'm so excited!

We already put up our two Christmas trees, tinsel, lights, and other things. I already got presents for everybody. I got mommy { __I forgot} and I got daddy {a puzzle ball } and Andrew got { a santa wrist band} and Becca got {a tile with the word princess on it} . We're so excited. The thing I am most excited about is going to Lights of the South. It is a place where there are lots of lights and a cafe and a stop to see Santa and a Christmas tree maze. Stuff like that. I am also excited to have cinnamon rolls in the morning and to get my presents.

Today was pajama day at school. I got to wear my pajamas all day and am still wearing them now. We made Scrooge masks and watched a Christmas Carol the movie and had hot chocolate and cookies. We went to see the play last week. Yesterday was my class party. Mom came and Rebecca came and we ate lots of food and read our Christmas tree stories. Then we got to see ourselves getting "elf-ed". It was very funny.

My friend Leara was gone from school today because tomorrow a storm is coming. So they left today so they would not get hit by the storm. Their grandma lives in West Virginia. She is my best friend and we play together and have been friends since pre-K.

I have been going to activity days at church. I got to sew a baby blanket and use a sewing machine all by myself! Next week we are going to go to the hospital and give our blankets and sing Christmas carols to the new babies and moms.

For Christmas I would like a Christmas dress to wear on Christmas day (not the morning). Also a new camera and a new watch because both of them that I had broke.

A few weeks ago I went with Daddy to the Daddy-daughter dance at my school. I wore my baptism dress. I ate cake and kool-aid. And I danced like a . . . princess! Daddy spun me until I fell over! I loved the daddy-daughter dance. Most of all, I love my daddy!

Run

I took Lenna running on the indoor track at the Y this morning. She is trying to reach a milestone (5 miles) for a club at school. She is an amazing runner. Next time, I will take her *before* my cardio workout instead of after. If you ever need motivation, take your 8 yr old and have her threaten to lap you. . . .

How I spent My Summer Vacation

Horse Camp

At horse camp I swim on Mondays and Fridays. We go on trail rides, we ride horses, and we saddle them. Sometimes we give them baths and get hosed down (us). I ride Lightening. It's a big horse. Miss Annie and Miss Loral are the best teachers in the world! Our group is the Little Wranglers. Sometimes we get by a stall door and open them for the assigned horses. Then we go inside and get to pet the horses and feed them. We play on the playground, have lunch, and have our own lockers. Sometimes we play in the sprinklers. I learned lots of clapping games there. I really like horse camp. Tether ball is fun to watch, just so you know. That's what horse camp is all about- just remember not to go behind the horses. Always go on the side. And when you are brushing the tail, pull the tail towards you on the side to brush it, not behind. I learned a lot of stuff from horse camp. Tomorrow is the pony relay. My favorite part is when we get to go swimming. My shoes always get really muddy, that is why I wear my old ones. Mom says they smell like a barn. On the trail ride I rode so long it made my bum hurt, and my arms were sore from pulling the reins so Lightening wouldn't eat grass the whole time. That was the worst part. It made me want to cry because I was frustrated. I can name all the parts of a saddle. I am learning to steer the horse by squeezing with my legs.

The pony relay was fun. We had a race to see what age group could lead the pony, take off the saddle and blanket, brush the pony, put everything back on, and lead it back to the next person. Our group got second place. I had lots of fun and got a red ribbon.

library books and my weekend

On Friday I went to my favorite place. The library.

The only books I got for me to read are: Henry and Mudge, Stage Fright on a Summer Night, Meet Julie, The Goose`s Gold, and Don`t Call Me Beanhead!

I read all of them, except the Goose's Gold. I really liked the American Girl book Meet Julie. It was my favorite so far. I liked the Hanry and Mudge had a treehouse in their bedroom. I liked that in Stage Fright the magic tree house kids turned day into night and learned that Queen Elizabeth had black teeth. Beanie had glow-in-the-dark crayons!

On Friday Leara came over to my house because her mom and her dad were on an anniversary date. Me and Leara got to sleep in the bunk bed. We played Sorry and read books. Then on Saturday they came over again! We got to have cake and Leara stayed the whole day long. On Sunday me and my friend Cassidy got to be the teachers of our class.

My great ( so far) summer

Hey guys how you doin'?So far my my summer's going great!
Right now I am going to swimming lessons. Today we had a substitute teacher. We got to dive in the 7ft pool. Wow! I learned the backstroke and how to swim without holding my nose. I also got to go in the clubhouse with my friend Leara.
What are you doing this summer?
I am leaving June 12th to go to Nana's house, then I am leaving from the airport to go to my grandma's house in CA. First we are going to spend time with our family, then we are going to the Redwood beach to go camping (Everybody's coming!). Then we are going to go back and spend time with our cousins. Then we will go to the airport and fly back to MD where daddy will meet us at the airport, drive us to MD, and we will be there in time for the 4th of July and my cousin Heather's birthday. Then we'll go home and take a break. then we'll go to the Y and swim. Then I will go to horse riding camp. Then it will be time for school to start again.

My Exciting Day

As you can see, my story won for All of Columbia County. I was so excited when my teacher announced that I won for all of Columbia County (in first grade).

I read my story on the news show and all of the school got to see me. I got to sit with Mrs. Reeder, the principal. Mommy and Andy and Rebecca got to sit in my classroom to watch. I got to see everybody rehearsing, and it was really noisy in there. My picture is on the school website, too!

I get to go to the school board meeting to get a certificate and a photograph. Now my story is in the contest for the whole state of Georgia. We will find out about that sometime in the summer.

my week

This week I have had my Easter egg hunt . Last night I went to Chili`s for dinner. I got to find 20 easter eggs at my egg hunt .

My Tenth Tooth Story

On Thursday lost my tenth tooth! It was hurting and really wiggly all day. I had to go to the nurse to get a tissue because it was bleeding. I was riding in the car to pick up Andy and I was wiggling it and wiggling it. When we got there I was eating a snack and I felt something and I spit it out and it was my tooth! Then my mouth started bleeding all over so my mom had to go back in to get a tissue for me. It was my tenth tooth!
I left it for the toothfairy and I was really sad in the morning because I thought she didn't come. But then I looked under a different pillow and she had left me a note and two quarters and my tooth, because it was #10 and special.
And that is my tooth story.

Me And Sarah

Yesterday it was the day I was going to Sarah 's house for her birthday ! First I stayed in her mom's classroom. then we went to CHICK-FIL-A . Then we dropped off Sarah's sister at her friends house. After that we went to build a bear. I got a bunny named Sierra because I went on the computer and got a birth certificate. Then we went to Toy R Us and I got a Littlest Pet Shop. Then we went to Dippin Dots and I got a yummy gummy kiddie sundae. And I watched Hannah Montana on their tv. Then I went home. Andy wanted to steal my things and I said no. I had Mommy's cold since last night and I still have ha lf of it. (Did you see that the word half is in half? ha ha!)

Now I have two parts in the play because there was supposed to be five fireflies but there was only four. So now I am a speaking part bug and a firefly dancer. I get to wear two costumes and do a fast change between the songs.

I start soccer practice on Monday.

Jump Rope Winner

Hi. Thursday at PE the girls were sitting out waiting for the boys to get done jump roping. Finally, it was my turn. The girls were practicing. Then we were going to do a contest. It is when you jump rope, when you mess up you sit down. We started just a few minutes after he said the directions. Then lots of people started sitting down. There was only a few more people left. Then there were two more people left (Including me)! Then she sat down. I was very happy that I won! I didn't stop for a very long time. He announced that I was the winner! I was very happy. Everyone was saying "good job, Lenna" when I was holding the door open. I went back to the classroom and told Mrs Kirk and Mrs D. When it was time to go home I was very excited. I told all my friends at the bus. When I got home I told Mommy straight away. Then when daddy came out I told him, too. Momma was very excited for me. And that's how I knew I was a good jump roper.

The zoo trip

On Monday I went to the zoo. Mommy said it was one hour, but she was wrong. The zoo is is South Carolina. The favorite place I went to was the aquarium. There was lots of snakes, lizzards, and fish. I like the jungle. It was a little stuffy. I noticed that they were fixing the jellyfish tank. Mamma said that me and Andy both had five dollars. I spended mine on a flamingo pincher. I liked it because it made noise. Andy had an elephant pincher. On the way home we played with them in the car. And we watched tv. When we went home I played outside with them. I like the zoo.
